Superior Indoor Environmental Quality

Ultrasuite® +Climate makes use of an air change rate up to 3X the ASHRAE 170 minimum (60 air changes per hour) and local HEPA filtration to rapidly remove surgical smoke and airborne particulate from the operating room.

This elevated air change rate allows for warmer air to be supplied to the space while still meeting cooling load requirements. As a result, a wider clean air column is realised, creating a larger sterile working zone and more consistent temperatures throughout the operating room to improve thermal comfort for staff and reduce the risk of hypothermia for patients.

Dedicated fan coils and a high air change rate facilitate precision environmental control and rapid room temperature adjustment (up to 20°F in as little as 20 minutes) to meet the needs of complex surgical procedures.

Energy Efficient Operation

Ultrasuite® +Climate uses a de-centralized fan coil system and local HEPA filtration to provide an increased air change rate, up to 3X ASHRAE 170 minimum, and dedicated temperature control to a single operating room.

The hospital’s central air handling system provides humidity control and the minimum outdoor air for the space. This de-centralized approach allows for smaller central HVAC equipment and eliminates over-cooling and reheat that is typical in traditional systems.
